When I don't have any big projects that I'm working on and I get the itch to sew, I lock myself in my room and make doll clothes. A lot of people think that because it's such tiny stitches and hems that you are working with that it would be difficult to make doll clothes, but honestly, it's not. Any one who wants to can make doll clothes. Don't get me wrong I've had my share of frustrating moments while making them, but I have frustrating moments with an project. Making doll clothes is a great way to learn the basics of making clothes, without wasting a bunch of fabric doing it. I usually use remnants from past projects to do it anyway, so it's no cost to me. The other thing that makes making doll clothes a lot easier is having a serger. I myself don't have one, but my mom does so anything that has been serger was done at her house. Also, a lot of the fabric I use is from my mother's stock, so if something is TOTALLY 70's or 80's I do not take credit for picking it out!! LOL!
